Party Venue Ideas - A Party Planning Guide

party venue ideas

Party venue ideas are basically anywhere that you can have a party! The most obvious place to host your party is at your house or in your garden. But what if you just don't have the room? Dependent on how many guests you have and your budget there are many places that you can use from a meal at your local fast food restaurant to a day out a spa or theme park.

So how do you choose? First you should make a list of all available party venue ideas in your area starting off with your home or garden. Write down every place that you can think of in relation to what the Pink Heaven Party Angel is into. For example, there is no point writing down all the nearest indoor play centers for a teenager or adult. Have a look through your telephone directory for more ideas, there may even be some places that you hadn't even had thought of.

Here are some party venue ideas that the Pink Heaven Party Angel has come up with:

  • Your House
  • Your Garden
  • A Friend or Family Members House/Garden

There may be many more party venues in your area but how do you choose just one?

These are some questions you should be asking yourself when choosing a venue for your party and details you should finalise with the venue before making a final decision.

  • Budget - The all important budget is the first thing that you should consider when choosing a party venue as anything over your budget can be struck off straight away. Phone the venue to ask if they have a room hire charge or a cost per head. After you answer each question re-look at your budget to see if this has now put more venues out of your price range such as a large amount of guests or items not being included in the price.
  • Guests - How big is your guest list? It may be fine to invite 15 people to a fast food restaurant or even invite 200 to a hall or a function room at a hotel but it is unrealistic to think that a local spa would take this many. It is also a good idea to double check with any venue that you choose well before hand if they have any minimum or maximum guest limits and if there is enough room for everyone to dance etc. A point to remember is that if you are hosting a children's party do you need extra adults to supervise or will each child bring a parent, make sure you include these in your numbers.
  • Availability - Is the party venue idea available on your selected date. If not ask if it is available near that date if it is a venue you really want or if they have an alternative room available. If they are not available until next year then you will need to cross them off the list. Also you will need to find out how long the venue is available for, you may be able to spend all day at a theme park but a bowling alley or function room may only be available for a limited and certain time.
  • Food - Does each party venue idea provide food or not? There are obvious answers here such as fast food restaurants but you may need to ask if your local bowling alley would provide food. You will also need to know if food is including in the price or if you have to pay extra. For venues that don't provide food are you able to bring your own? A budget for this will also need to be worked out. If you are bringing your own food ask if they provide any serving equipment such as cake stands, cake knives or even plates and cutlery.

  • Entertainment - Is there some sort of entertainment at the party venue or do they let your arrange your own. Bowling is including at a bowling party but if you are hiring a function hall do they provide a music or a DJ or do you need to arrange one? Also if you are hiring something such as a bounce house/bouncy castle then is there enough room for one? You may also have to ask about available power points for some types of entertainment such as a DJ.
  • Decorations - Does the venue come theme decorated (such as some indoor play centers have theme party rooms) or are you allowed to put decorations up if needed?
  • Transportation - Are you able to easily transport everything to and from the party, this includes everything from food, decorations and presents to family guests and the all important Pink Heaven Party Angel!
  • Cleaning Up - Does the venue require you to clean up after the party? If so do you need to bring cleaning equipment such as brushes and mops.

Done with all that? You should hopefully have now narrowed it down to one party venue ideas or at least a small number. You can then leave it to the Pink Heaven Party Angel to choose her favorite, if all else fails put the remaining venues on a slip of paper each and put them in a hat and pull one out which will then be your chosen party venue!
