6th Birthday Party
by: Pink Heaven Party Angel

Having the party at home is a great money saver. My youngest daughter is going to be 5 this year and due to money constraints I am going to be cutting down this year. Her party is also on the 30th July. So let's see if we can help each other out.

I also threw my eldest daughter a rock star party so I hope I have some tips for you.

Decorations: If you have old CDs you can use these in decorations, such as in frames for awards or hanging from string on the ceilings. Buying Hannah Montana party ware could prove expensive stick to a color scheme (e.g. purple and silver)and add cheaper items such as star shaped confetti and plastic champagne glasses. You could also put up Hannah Montana posters or even make a birthday banner from cut out pictures. Make sure you have your clipboard handy for checking those with backstage passes!

Stage: Make a stage out of wooden crates, make sure that they will hold a few children at a time as you don't want any accidents. Wrap shimmery purple or silver paper around the base and also add ribbons, sequins, glitter etc. Tie 4 helium balloons to each corner of the stage. you could also have decorations of a spotlight hanging from above.

Invitations: Buy a pack of CD cases and put the invitations along with the backstage passes inside. This shouldn't cost too much. If every parent has an email address then you could send an evite. I've made a princess one for my daughter that you can see on Party Invitation Ideas. You could make a similar rock star themed one. Total cost = FREE!!!

Favors: You have some good ideas for favors, buying in bulk is your best option as this often works out cheaper. Try discount stores you can often make something out of what seems like nothing.

Food: A buffet style food table is the cheapest option if you have a lot of kids coming. Check out Kids Party Food for some ideas.
