St Patricks Day party ideas are used to celebrate the feast of St Patricks which falls on the 17th March each year. St Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland and this holiday is celebrated the world over with many cities having an annual parade or carnival.

INVITATIONS

A unique St Patricks day invites idea is to make a pot of gold invitation. First make the background to the invitation. Use a piece of A4 blue card. About half way down you will need to cut out then stick on some green card to form grass under a blue sky.

Then using a piece of black card cut out a large pot shape. Then glue around the outside of the pot, leaving no glue on the top of the pot. Stick the pot on the grass section of the A4 card. The idea is to just glue around the outside of the bottom and sides to form a sleeve inside the pot so you can put things in it.

Using some paints or colored card you then need to make a rainbow coming from the pot into the sky. If you are good at drawing you could also add a Leprechaun, or you could use some Leprechaun stickers. On the top half on the card (the sky) write:

"Will St Patricks Day bring YOU good luck. Delve inside the pot of gold to find out!"

Inside the pot you then need to put a slip of paper stating the party details on and also add a chocolate gold coin for good luck!

DECORATIONS

Go mad with the color green. Green and white are the colors of the Irish flag, with green also being the colour of the Emerald Isle, which Ireland is also known as.
