Pink Heaven Party Ideas6yr. old's birthday switching into a surprise 49th birthday party.

My daughters 6th bday family party from 2-4/2-5 switching into a surprise 49th for hubby.
Family lives out of town. Will also be inviting former co workers and friends (not former). Plan on people joining us in the back yard as they arrive.
Plan to serve dinner sloppy yucks or something easily created in a crock pot to all. Hubby will be happy to see people.( Daughter will assume everyone is there to see her. Also have a back up plan if she gets too tired etc.)
Also hoping someone will take hubby on a errand towards the end of 6yr old party so we could hang up a few signs.
Any other suggestions? All suggestions are appreciated.
